BAGLUNG: Former King Gyanendra Shah visited the Kalika Bhagwati Temple in Baglung on Wednesday, where he offered prayers and interacted with his well-wishers.
His visit drew significant attention as he was welcomed by leaders and cadres of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), along with members of the general public, supporters, and religious groups.
As Shah arrived at the temple, his supporters chanted slogans such as “King, come save the country,” “Our king is dearer than life,” and “We hope for a Hindu kingdom,” reflecting a push for the restoration of monarchy and a Hindu state.
A 501-member civic welcome committee, led by Jabbar Bahadur Lamichhane, President of the World Hindu Federation, Baglung, was formed to organize a religious welcome for the former monarch.
Shah also took time to interact with his supporters during the visit, which comes amid ongoing discussions about Nepal’s political and religious landscape.
