HoR approves Good Governance Ordinance

KATHMANDU: The Ordinance-2081, which amends certain Nepali laws related to the promotion of good governance and public service delivery, has been approved.

CPN-Unified Socialist MP Bhanubhakta Joshi had submitted a motion to reject the ordinance.

Although opposition party MPs supported his motion, the majority of the House voted in favor of the ordinance.

The main opposition party, the CPN-Maoist Center, along with other opposition parties—including the Rastriya Swatantra Party, the Rastriya Prajatantra Party, the Unified Socialist Party, the Nepal Majdoor Kisan Party, and the Aam Janata Party—voted to reject the ordinance.

However, six parties supporting the government, including Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, voted to accept the ordinance.
