KATHMANDU: The government is set to present five ordinances in the National Assembly on Thursday after securing the support of the Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) and Loktantrik Samajbadi Party (LSP).

However, the contentious land ordinance has been excluded from the agenda.

The ordinances, which were initially scheduled to be tabled earlier, faced delays due to the absence of three members in the National Assembly. The government has now decided to move forward with the process following political negotiations.

The House of Representatives will deliberate on the ordinances today, Wednesday, before they are presented in the National Assembly.

The government is pushing to pass the ordinance to amend some Nepal Acts related to the promotion of good governance and public service delivery, the first amendment ordinance on financial procedures and fiscal responsibility, the first amendment ordinance on privatization, the ordinance to amend some Nepal Acts related to improving the economic and business environment and increasing investment, and the ordinance on cooperatives issued on December 29, 2024.
