Prabhu Sah raises allegations of MP ‘trading’ in Parliament

KATHMANDU: Aam Janata Party MP Prabhu Sah has brought to the government’s notice reports of MPs being traded.

Speaking during an emergency session of the House of Representatives on Wednesday, Sah urged Speaker Devraj Ghimire to take the matter seriously.

“We are hearing reports that the government is ‘trading’ Members of Parliament,” Sah said.

“A key leader of the ruling coalition has accused the government of this practice to pass an ordinance.”

Sah further stated, “Even in this modern era of the 21st century, the issue of buying and selling MPs is shameful. The Speaker must take this seriously, as it insults the entire Parliament.”

“When such news is circulated, tarnishing the reputation of this esteemed body, the government must respond. Otherwise, can a responsible MP make such allegations, and if so, will it be legal or not?” he questioned.
