Triangular Series: Nepal loses match against Netherlands by 10 wickets



KATHMANDU: Nepal lost today’s match in the 2025 Nepal Women’s Tri-Nation Series to the Netherlands.
In the match held at the Tribhuvan University (TU) Cricket Ground in Kirtipur Nepal was defeated by the Netherlands by 10 wickets.

Chasing a target of 146 runs set by Nepal, the Netherlands reached the target in 19.4 overs without losing any wickets.

In their victory, Sterre Kalis remained not out with 98 runs, including 11 boundaries and two sixes off 69 balls. Phebe Molkenboer was also not out, scoring 48 runs with four boundaries off 49 balls.

Earlier, Nepal posted 145 runs in 20 overs for the loss of four wickets. Puja Mahato was the top scorer for Nepal, making 62 runs, including five boundaries, off 51 balls. Captain Indu Barma contributed 37 runs, including five boundaries, off 39 balls. Rubina Chhetri added 20 runs off 17 balls, and Kabita Joshi remained not out on seven runs.

For the Netherlands, Iris Zwilling claimed two wickets, while Caroline De Lange and Heather Siegers each took one wicket.

This marks Nepal’s third consecutive loss to the Netherlands in the series. With six points from five matches, the Netherlands is currently in second place on the points table, while Nepal sits at the bottom with no points from five matches. Thailand remains in first place, having won all their matches so far.

The series features three teams: Nepal, the Netherlands, and Thailand, with each team playing three matches against the other.
