Bhatbhateni warehouse reopens three months after Gen-Z movement arson

KATHMANDU: Bhatbhateni Supermarket has resumed operations of its warehouse three months after it was damaged during the vandalism, looting, and arson incidents linked to the Gen-Z movement. The main warehouse in Baluwatar was formally reopened today following a ‘rudri’ ritual.

The retail chain, regarded as Nepal’s largest supermarket brand, had suffered losses amounting to nearly Rs 12 billion across its 12 stores during the unrest.

The warehouse has resumed operations following reconstruction and repair of damaged structures, storage systems, and inventory management facilities.

According to the management, efforts to restore operations were carried out at high speed to ensure uninterrupted service despite the substantial financial losses.

With the warehouse reopening today, Bhatbhateni expects supply to affected outlets to gradually return to normal.
