Govt approves participation in trade review and Water Security Summit



KATHMANDU: The government has authorized officials to represent Nepal at two key international events.

On Tuesday, the Cabinet approved Dr. Ram Prasad Ghimire, Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Supplies, to attend Nepal’s third trade policy review in Geneva, Switzerland, scheduled from December 1 to 3.

Similarly, Secretary Pramiladevi Shakya of the Ministry of Water Supply has been authorized to attend the High-Level Summit on Water Security and Resilience in Bangkok, Thailand.

In addition, the Cabinet decided to provide compensation of NPR 603,600 to Padm Maya Gurung, as per a Supreme Court directive, and approved the promotion of ten senior Nepalese Army officers to the rank of General.

The Cabinet also granted prior approval for surveys on the organizational structure of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology and its subordinate bodies, and approved the organizational structure and staffing of the Ministry of Finance and its agencies.
