Westerly winds to bring scattered showers today



KATHMANDU: The influence of westerly winds is bringing mostly cloudy conditions to Nepal’s hilly regions today, with scattered light rain and snowfall likely in some areas. Lower hills and the Terai are expected to remain partly cloudy, while isolated showers may occur in a few places, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

There is a possibility of light to moderate rain and snowfall in some hilly areas of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, and in one or two places in the hilly regions of other provinces. Meanwhile, light rain is expected in one or two places in the Terai areas of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Tonight, the hilly areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces will remain generally cloudy, while the rest of the country is likely to be partly cloudy.

Moderate rain and snowfall are expected in some hilly and mountainous areas of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, and in isolated locations in other hilly areas.
