Collection of details on damage in agriculture underway



SUNSARI: The local authority has begun collecting details on loss and damage caused on agriculture due to hailstorm occurred in Sunsari.

The hailstorm occurred last two days- Sunday and Monday. The Agricultural Knowledge Centre in the district launched the drive to garner information through the local levels, according to Nil Kamal Singh, chief of the Centre.

Earlier, the farmers in the district had submitted a memorandum to the district administration office via ward and local levels for it.

Crop conservation officer Mira Timilsina informed that the Centre decided to conduct a monitoring of the agricultural fields and collect data on loss and damage.

Wheat, maize, legumes, vegetables and banana plants were damaged by the severe hailstones.
