Combined efforts needed for success of Healthy Nepal Campaign: PM Oli

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has called for combined efforts from all for the success of the free human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination campaign that commenced from today.

Inaugurating a nationwide campaign organised by the Ministry of Health and Population at Shivapuri Secondary School in Maharajgunj today on the occasion of World Cancer Day, he said the joint efforts of all concerned were essential to make the Healthy Nepal campaign a success.

PM Oli on the occasion stated that happiness and prosperity of mankind is the goal of the government, and the present government was active to free Nepali citizens from diseases and deprivation.

British Prince Edward arrives in Nepal

Prince Edward, the British royal, and his wife, Sophie, have arrived in Nepal for an official visit.

They were welcomed at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) by Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai and other officials on Tuesday.

The couple arrived separately and is scheduled to meet President Ram Chandra Poudel this afternoon.

Case filed against Rabi Lamichhane in Chitwan

A case has been filed in Chitwan against Rabi Lamichhane, the Chairperson of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), who had recently been released on bail by three district courts.

The District Attorney’s Office in Chitwan registered the case against the former Home Minister on Tuesday, accusing him of illegally embezzling and defrauding funds from the Sahara Chitwan Cooperative in an organized manner.

The police had earlier submitted an investigation report recommending the filing of charges against Lamichhane and 14 others.

Expert’s conclusion at Congress training: The party has deteriorated since 1990

Dr. Krishna Prasad Poudel, a member of the Nepali Congress Central Policy, Research, and Training Institute, has stated that the party has been deteriorating since 1990.

Speaking at the closed session of a two-day orientation program organized in Pokhara, Kaski, Poudel presented a paper highlighting how Congress has deteriorated over the years.

The orientation program, aimed at district presidents and deputy presidents responsible for training branches across all 77 districts, focused on organizational matters and contemporary issues.

T-20 Triangular series: Nepal suffers fourth consecutive defeat

Nepal suffered its fourth consecutive defeat in the ongoing women’s triangular T-20 series underway in the capital.
In the match today, Nepal lost to Thailand by 5 runs at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur. With this defeat, Nepal is out of the title race.

Chasing a target of 107 runs set by Thailand, Nepal scored only 101 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Rubina Chhetri scored the highest 36 runs in 30 balls  while Kabita Joshi scored 24 runs and Roma Thapa added 19.
