UML Central Committee meeting scheduled for Sunday

KATHMANDU: The Central Committee meeting of the CPN-UML is set to begin on Sunday at the party’s central office in Chyasal, starting at 11 a.m.

Party Chair and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli will present a political report during the session.

Unlike previous meetings, where group discussions were held on reports, this time, each central member will be given approximately three minutes to express their views individually, according to Vice-Chair Surendra Pandey.

In his opening remarks, Chair Oli is expected to address the current national political situation.

His political report will cover topics such as upcoming work plans, party organizational strengthening, government formation, coalition dynamics, constitutional amendments, economic reforms, and cooperatives, Pandey stated.

Central members, commission heads, and other officials will participate in the meeting, which is planned to conclude within two days.

The political report to be presented was approved during the UML Secretariat meeting on January 2.

This will be the first Central Committee meeting since the formation of the Oli-led government.

The meeting is expected to establish clear stances on key issues, including constitutional amendments, ahead of the parliamentary winter session.
