Journalist Shyamsundar Pudasaini passes away

KATHMANDU: Journalist Shyamsundar Pudasaini has passed away.

Pudasaini, who fell seriously ill after returning to his room following his regular work on Friday evening, was declared dead at Helping Hands Hospital in Chabahil.

According to Pudasaini’s close friend, Nawaraj Kunwar, he had been unwell for the past few days.

Pudasaini, who regularly visited the hospital for check-ups, collapsed as soon as he reached his room on Friday night.

Kunwar said that when a neighbor took him to the hospital and informed the doctor, Pudasaini was already unresponsive.

Kunwar explained, “He had been ill for the past few days but continued to come to the office along with his hospital visits.”

“On Friday evening, he finished work around 8 pm, had dinner at a colleague’s house, and collapsed when he reached his room at about 10 pm. When I was informed by the neighbor and rushed to the hospital, he was not breathing.”

Pudasaini was recently working as a deputy editor at Nepal Views.

He had previously worked with Mountain Television, Aaj Tak, Himalayan Times Daily, Prime Television, and Radio Annapurna. Pudasaini was also known for his bold and risky reporting.
