Forex: US dollar reaches its highest value ever



KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has announced today’s foreign currency exchange rates, with the US dollar reaching its highest value to date.

The central bank reported that the prices of several other major currencies, including the Euro, Pound Sterling, Swiss Franc, and Australian Dollar, have also increased.

According to the fixed exchange rate, the buying rate for one US dollar stands at Rs 143.50 and the selling rate at Rs 144.10. The buying rate for one Euro has been set at Rs 166.57 and the selling rate at Rs 167.27.

Likewise, one UK Pound Sterling is being bought at Rs 189.43 and sold at Rs 190.22, while the buying and selling rates for one Swiss Franc are Rs 178.33 and Rs 179.07, respectively.

The buying rate for one Australian Dollar is Rs 93.96 and the selling rate is Rs 94.36. One Canadian Dollar is being bought at Rs 102.42 and sold at Rs 102.85. Similarly, the buying and selling rates for one Singapore Dollar are Rs 110.56 and Rs 111.02.

For 10 Japanese Yen, the buying rate is Rs 9.20 and the selling rate is Rs 9.24. One Chinese Yuan is being bought at Rs 20.30 and sold at Rs 20.38. The buying rate for one Saudi Arabian Riyal is Rs 38.23 and the selling rate is Rs 38.39. One Qatari Riyal is being bought at Rs 39.38 and sold at Rs 39.54.

According to the central bank, the buying rate for one Thai Baht is Rs 4.48 and the selling rate is Rs 4.50. One UAE Dirham is being bought at Rs 39.07 and sold at Rs 39.23. The buying and selling rates for one Malaysian Ringgit are Rs 34.72 and Rs 34.87, while one South Korean Won is being bought at Rs 9.77 and sold at Rs 9.81. One Swedish Kronor has a buying rate of Rs 15.17 and a selling rate of Rs 15.23, and one Danish Kroner is being bought at Rs 22.30 and sold at Rs 22.40.

The central bank has set the buying rate for one Hong Kong Dollar at Rs 18.43 and the selling rate at Rs 18.51. One Kuwaiti Dinar is being bought at Rs 467.46 and sold at Rs 469.41, while one Bahraini Dinar is priced at Rs 380.64 for buying and Rs 382.23 for selling.

One Omani Rial has a buying rate of Rs 372.72 and a selling rate of Rs 374.28. The buying rate for one hundred Indian Rupees has been set at Rs 160, with the selling rate at Rs 160.15.

Nepal Rastra Bank has stated that these exchange rates may be revised at any time as needed. It also noted that rates set by commercial banks may vary, and the updated figures will be available on the central bank’s website.
