Madhesh CM Yadav to seek vote of confidence today

KATHMANDU: Madhesh Province Chief Minister Saroj Kumar Yadav is set to seek a vote of confidence today (Wednesday), following a Supreme Court directive.

Yadav said he received the court’s order via the Office of the Province Chief at 3 PM on Tuesday, requiring him to secure a confidence vote within 24 hours. Accordingly, the process has been scheduled for 2 PM on Wednesday.

He stated that he has already notified the Provincial Assembly to make the necessary arrangements and affirmed his full commitment to adhering to the court’s instruction.

Expressing optimism about retaining his position, Yadav said he is confident of winning a majority, noting that discussions with various political parties have yielded positive responses. He added that, given the CPN-UML’s past support for other parties, he expects them to reciprocate during the confidence vote.
