Two killed, over 40 injured in Mahottari bus accident



MAHOTTARI: At least two people were killed and more than 40 others injured when a passenger bus met with an accident in Bardibas Municipality-11, Khayarmara, on Thursday morning.

According to police, the Kathmandu-bound bus (Na 6 Kha 1464), which had departed from Khayarmara, crashed near Laxminarayan Secondary School.

Eighty-year-old Chulhai Chaudhary of Bardibas-10 died on the spot, while 10-year-old Pravesh Khadka of Ishwarpur-12, Sarlahi, succumbed to injuries during treatment, said Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bikash Bam of the Bardibas Area Police Office.

The injured passengers are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in Bardibas, police confirmed.
