One dead, two injured in Nawalpur road accident



NAWALPUR: One person died and two others were injured in a collision between a container truck and a freight truck in Devchuli, east of Bardaghat-Sustapur, late last night.

According to Madhu Nepal, Information Officer at the District Police Office, the accident occurred at Devchuli-15 Lokaha along the East-West Highway. A container heading toward Butwal collided head-on with a truck coming from Narayanghat.

The container driver, 35-year-old Madhav Pangeni of Susta Rural Municipality-1, West Nawalparasi, died during treatment this morning at the College of Medical Sciences in Bharatpur.

The container’s co-driver, Ram Bahadur Sarki, 36, of Rapti Municipality-7, Chitwan, and the truck driver, Bich Bahadur Thing, 30, of Bardibas Municipality-11, Mahottari, sustained serious injuries. Both are currently undergoing treatment at Alive Hospital and Trauma Center in Bharatpur.
