MAHOTTARI: A young man died in a scooter accident on Saturday at Bhanpath Chowk, East-West Highway in Bardibas-10, Mahottari.
According to the Area Police Office, Bardibas, the 38-year-old scooter driver from Lalbandi-9, Sarlahi, was struck by a truck (registration Na.2-03-001 Kha 6461) traveling west to east while riding a scooter (registration Na.2-08 Pa 6834).
Acharya, who was seriously injured in the collision, died during treatment at Shubhaswastik Hospital in Bardibas.
A 32-year-old woman, Dhankumari Ghimire, who was also riding the scooter, sustained injuries and is currently receiving treatment in Bardibas, said DSP Bikash Bam of the Area Police Office.
Police reported that the truck hit the scooter while overtaking. The truck driver has been arrested.
