PM Oli requests Nepali diaspora representatives in Spain to return home

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister and CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli held an interaction with office-bearers and representatives of the Non-Resident Nepali Forum (NRNF) in Spain on Tuesday night.

The meeting took place at the official residence of the Nepali Ambassador in Madrid, following Prime Minister Oli’s participation in the UN Financing for Development Conference held earlier in Seville.

During the interaction, the NRNF officials, affiliated with the UML, welcomed and honored PM Oli and expressed their best wishes for the success of Nepal’s development and prosperity journey under his leadership.

Addressing the gathering, Prime Minister Oli urged the Nepali diaspora to contribute to national development by investing their knowledge, experience, and capital gained abroad. He encouraged them to consider returning to Nepal and engage in suitable professions and businesses.

He also highlighted that the current government was formed through collaboration between the two largest political parties to ensure political stability and sustainable development in the country. PM Oli reiterated his commitment to hand over leadership to Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba as per the mutual agreement made during the formation of the coalition government.

Reflecting on past political turbulence, he said that despite challenges, his party had always worked towards delivering political solutions and stability in the country. He also dismissed recent speculations about internal rifts within the ruling coalition or within the UML party, calling them baseless.

The interaction was attended by Prime Minister’s Chief Advisor and UML Deputy General Secretary Bishnu Rimal, Nepali Ambassador to Spain Shanil Nepal, NRNF International Committee Secretary Hem Sherpa, Europe Committee Coordinator Muktabahadur Gurung, NRNF Spain Chairperson Kedar Dhungana, Madrid Committee Chair Shivraj Sigdel, and Portugal Committee Chair Deepak Kshetri, among others.
