Deputy Mayor Sunita Dangol reaches KMC office amidst tensions

KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Deputy Mayor Sunita Dangol has reached the KMC office today, following the dramatic return of Chief Administrative Officer Saroj Guragain, who was allowed entry by employees and ward chairpersons after breaking through the city police cordon.

Despite the presence of Deputy Mayor Dangol, Chief Administrative Officer Guragain has not yet been able to access his official office due to it being locked by Mayor Balen Shah’s secretariat.

Guragain is currently situated in the office of an executive member as the ongoing municipal meeting is taking place.

The municipal meeting, attended by Deputy Mayor Dangol, is proceeding as tensions remain high over the administrative standoff within the Kathmandu Metropolitan City.
