Seven parliamentary committees meeting today



KATHMANDU: Seven different committees under the Federal Parliament are holding meetings today at Singha Durbar between 11 am and 11:30 am to discuss various legislative and policy matters.

The Law, Justice and Human Rights Committee is reviewing and discussing the draft report on the bill to amend some Nepal Acts.

The Agriculture, Cooperatives and Natural Resources Committee is gathering suggestions on the agricultural policy being formulated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development.

The Women and Social Affairs Committee is set to discuss the management of social workers, while the State Administration and Good Governance Committee will hold discussions with the Home Minister regarding the incident that took place in Tinkune, Kathmandu, on March 28.

Similarly, the Education, Health and Information Technology Committee will meet with the Ministry of Youth and Sports to discuss preparations for the 10th National Games.

The Development, Economic Affairs and Good Governance Committee is engaging with NGOs and civil society representatives to deliberate on Nepal’s transition from a least developed country (LDC) to a developing country.

The State Directive Principles, Policies and Responsibilities Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Committee (Joint) is reviewing the annual report of the Government of Nepal for the fiscal year 2022/23, which includes discussions on electricity, drinking water, education, health, and infrastructure, as per Article 53 of the Constitution of Nepal.
