Local and westerly winds influencing Nepal’s weather patterns



KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s Weather Forecasting Division has indicated that westerly and local winds are partially influencing the country’s weather.

At present, hilly areas in Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces are experiencing partly cloudy conditions, while most other regions remain predominantly clear.

Light snowfall and rain have been recorded in isolated locations in the high hilly and mountainous areas of Gandaki province.

By this afternoon, Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces are expected to have partly cloudy skies, while the rest of the country will remain mostly clear with occasional cloud cover.

There is also a chance of light snowfall in some high-altitude areas of Koshi and Gandaki provinces.

Tonight, similar weather patterns will persist, with partly cloudy conditions in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, while the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to mostly clear skies.
