Biplav criticizes Nepali politicians for ‘begging’ from foreign countries

KATHMANDU: Nepal Communist Party (NCP) General Secretary Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’ has accused the country’s leadership of acting like beggars by seeking assistance from foreign nations.

Speaking at a press conference in Surkhet on Monday, he warned that such dependence could lead Nepal into a situation similar to Ukraine’s.

Chand highlighted the need for progressive forces to unite, stating that foreign brokers create instability.

“We can transform Nepal, but for that, the communist movement needs unity,” he said.

He criticized leaders who, according to him, rely on foreign aid while failing to boost domestic production.

“Right now, Nepal’s production is not even sufficient for two months. This kind of situation turns people into agents of foreigners,” he said.

Chand, who has been in Karnali for a month, claimed to have planted 700 apple trees in Jumla and inaugurated a sheep farm in Kalikot.

He also hinted at plans to revive the textile industry, asserting that the public supports his initiatives.
