TULSIPUR: The Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation has allocated a budget of Rs 10 million for the Tarigaun Airport in Tulsipur, Dang.

Deputy Mayor of Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City, Syani Chaudhary, mentioned that the ministry has requested an additional Rs 990 million from the Ministry of Finance.

Established in 2011 BS, the airport currently cannot accommodate large aircraft. It is 750 meters long, but if expanded to 1,500 meters, it could accommodate a 72-seater aircraft.

At present, only 19-seater planes can land at the airport.
Chaudhary added that preparations are underway to initiate the necessary work, as the small aircraft have not been able to fully capitalize on the airport’s potential.

Prime Minister KP Oli had recently visited the airport to assess the situation.
