Unity can lead NC to majority: NC President Deuba

POKHARA: NepalI Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has asserted that if the party leaders remain united, the Nepali Congress can secure a majority in the upcoming elections.

Speaking at a program in Pokhara on Monday, Deuba emphasized that unity within the party would be key to winning a majority under the current electoral system.

“If the party leaders work together, the Nepali Congress alone can secure a majority according to the current electoral system,” he said.

While acknowledging that it is challenging to secure a majority under the current Constitution, Deuba maintained that unity among leaders would make it possible.

He also expressed concern about the challenges posed by a lack of internal unity within the party, despite the inclusive representation established by the Constitution.

“The Constitution and the country’s political system are based on an inclusive proportional system, representing everyone. We fought for this system,” he said.

“However, the coming days will be challenging. Unity within the party is crucial to strengthening both the federal and inclusive systems. Nothing is impossible if we are united.”
