Myagdi section of Beni-Jomsom-Korala road blacktopped after 19 years



MYAGDI: The Myagdi section of the Beni-Jomsom-Korala road has been blacktopped after 19 years, marking a major milestone in the region’s road infrastructure development.

Out of the 33 kilometers from Beni to Kavrebhir, the Mustang border, the section has been fully blacktopped. Engineer Bishnu Chapagain of the road project said the road was widened to 11 meters before being blacktopped.

Of the 16.5-kilometer Nagdhunga-Kaikukhola section, 11 kilometers were blacktopped at a cost of Rs 630 million. Similarly, 15 kilometers of the 19-kilometer Rahughat-Nagdhunga section were blacktopped at Rs 660 million.

In addition, motorable bridges have been constructed at Rahughat, Begkhola, Mahabhir, Kaligandaki of Pokharebagar, and Ghattekhola of Dana. Bailey bridges have also been installed over Bhurungkhola and Rupsekhola, improving connectivity and safety for local commuters.
