New Kumari taken for Taleju Bhawani darshan

KATHMANDU: The newly anointed Kumari, Aryatara, was taken to the Taleju Bhawani temple at Hanumandhoka on Wednesday for a special darshan.

According to traditional belief, the living goddess derives spiritual strength from the Taleju darshan.

From the Kumari Ghar at Basantapur, she was carried in a ceremonial procession that also included the deities Bhairav and Ganesh. The ritual was conducted by a tantric priest, who escorted the young goddess inside the Taleju temple, said Gautam Shakya, coordinator of the Kumari Ghar Management Committee.
