Earthquake strikes Hanspur, Gorkha



KATHMANDU: An earthquake with its epicenter in Hanspur, Ajirkot Rural Municipality-3, Gorkha, was recorded early this morning.

According to the National Seismology and Research Center in Lainchaur, the quake measured 4.0 on the Richter scale and occurred at 6:15 a.m.

Earlier this month, on Bhadra 1, a similar magnitude 4.0 earthquake struck near Helamcho, Ramechhap. Nepal has recently experienced several earthquakes of around magnitude 4.0. Due to its location in the Himalayan region, the country is considered highly prone to seismic activity.
