NEPSE surges over 34 points



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index climbed by 34.42 points, marking a 1.29 percent increase and closing at 2,694.82 points.

A total of 317 companies saw active trading, with over 30.1 million shares changing hands in 89,468 transactions, amounting to a total turnover of Rs 9.74 billion.

All sectoral indices closed in the green, reflecting broad-based investor confidence.

The life insurance sector led the rally with a sharp 2.83 percent gain, followed by non-life insurance at 2.51 percent and development banks at 2.31 percent. The banking sector rose by 1.36 percent, while the finance sector gained 1.99 percent.
