Three arrested with undisclosed ‘hundi’ money worth Rs 2.82 million



PARSA: Police have arrested three individuals in possession of an undisclosed amount of money suspected to be involved in illegal ‘hundi’ transactions, totaling Rs 2.828 million.

According to Parsa Police Spokesperson Kishor Lamsal, Anil Barnaba of Pakahamainpur Rural Municipality-2 was arrested with Rs 947,000, and Binit Kumar Srivastava of Ardashnagar, Ward No. 3 of Birgunj Metropolitan City, was found with Rs 1.581 million. Both are suspected of being involved in ‘hundi’ trading.

Similarly, Deepak Kumar Sonar, a permanent resident of Parwanipur Rural Municipality-4 in Bara district, was apprehended with Rs 300,000.

The suspects are currently under investigation by the District Court under Section 125 (a) of the Criminal Code, 2074 BS, which prohibits transactions related to ‘hundi’.
