Teachers’ Federation launches indefinite protest in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Teachers Federation has launched an indefinite protest in Kathmandu from today, intensifying its ongoing movement that began on February 2.

Through the protest, the federation is demanding the swift enactment of the School Education Bill, which is currently under discussion in Parliament.

Federation President Laxmi Kishor Subedi stated that the protest aims to pressure the government into passing a progressive School Education Act that prioritizes quality education, student welfare, and teachers’ rights.

Teachers and education employees from across the country are expected to join the movement, with the federation asserting that they will not leave Kathmandu until the bill is passed into law.
