ANFA to organize National League from January 8



KATHMANDU: The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has decided to organize the National League from January 8, 2026. According to ANFA General Secretary Kiran Rai, today’s meeting decided to open team registration for interested A Division clubs in accordance with the association’s statutes.

He added that the A Division League will be held within one month after the completion of the National League. The meeting also decided to invite bids for marketing, ticketing, broadcasting, and digital rights for the upcoming one-year National League and the next five editions of the Martyr’s Memorial ‘A’ Division League. ANFA stated that a seven-day tender notice will be issued for the National League and a 15-day notice for the A Division League.

Under the FIFA Forward Program, the meeting approved the selection of “Edel Grass” to construct new grass football grounds in Dhulikhel and Dhangadhi, and to replace the artificial turf at the ANFA Complex in Satdobato. Similarly, under the “AFC Equal Pitch” project, ANFA will propose installing a hybrid turf at Dasharath Stadium.

Additionally, the meeting awarded Jagadamba Moktan JV a contract worth Rs 12,648,815 to build essential infrastructure, including an office and parapet, at the Sindhupalchok ground under the AFC program.

The contract for purchasing the Nepal national football team’s kits and sporting equipment has been extended with the current supplier until October 21, 2026. ANFA will call for new tenders for a one-year period starting next year.

Likewise, the SAFF U-19 Women’s Championship will be hosted in Pokhara in Falgun (mid-February to mid-March), and a women’s franchise league will also be organized. The National Women’s Knockout Tournament will take place in Udayapur, while Jhapa, Morang, Makwanpur, and Sunsari districts will be coordinated to determine venues for the Martyr’s Memorial National Women’s League.

The meeting also approved a budget of Rs 14,512,690 for the men’s and women’s teams participating in the SAFF futsal tournament scheduled for January in Thailand, allocating Rs 7,256,345 for each team.
