NEPSE slips 4.28 points, market turnover drops to Rs 4.71 billion



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index fell by 4.28 points on Monday, closing at 2,645.24 points. The market had also declined by 26 points on the Sunday, continuing a mild downward trend.

Trading turnover decreased by 33 percent to Rs 4.71 billion from Rs 7.08 billion recorded on the previous day.

Out of the listed companies, 124 saw their share prices rise, 126 declined, and 8 remained unchanged. Sectoral indices moved by less than 1 percent in most cases. Banking fell 0.68 percent, Hotels & Tourism 0.04 percent, Investment 0.73 percent, Life Insurance 0.51 percent, Others 0.18 percent, and Trading 0.10 percent. Meanwhile, Microfinance rose 0.61 percent, Manufacturing & Processing 0.30 percent, Hydropower 0.22 percent, Finance 0.91 percent, and Development Banks 0.26 percent.
