UML finalizes 2,100 delegates for 11th General Convention



KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML Secretariat meeting has finalized the number of delegates for its upcoming 11th General Convention. UML leader Surendra Pandey shared the decision through his social media post on Saturday.

According to Pandey, around 2,200 delegates will participate in the convention, which is scheduled to take place in Kathmandu in Mangsir.

The distribution of delegates has been determined under the following criteria:

  1. Four delegates (one woman, one youth under 40, and two from open category) from the first 1,200 members in each parliamentary constituency; one additional delegate for every 800 members thereafter.
  2. Forty-five delegates from provincial committees, including at least two women from each.
  3. Forty-seven delegates from 11 special regional committees (ZICs).
  4. Thirty delegates from the diaspora.
  5. Thirty-three delegates from the central office and its 32 departments.
  6. A total of 127 delegates from affiliated organizations, seven each from federation-type bodies and five each from others.
  7. Nominated members will also be included.
  8. Three hundred fifty-four from the central committee.
  9. Twenty-nine from the Central Discipline Commission.
  10. Thirty from the Central Audit Commission.
  11. Twenty-five from the Election Commission.
  12. Twenty-five from the Central Advisory Council.
