317 new cottage and small industries registered in Jhapa in three months



JHAPA: A total of 317 new cottage and small industries have been registered in Jhapa district during the first quarter of the current fiscal year.

According to Information Officer at the Cottage and Small Industry Office, Janaki Bhattarai, 145 firms were registered under the industrial category, while 172 were registered under the commerce category in the past three months.

During the same period, 335 industries and 332 commercial firms were renewed in the district.

Information Officer Bhattarai further informed that the registration of 63 industries was terminated in the first quarter, 38 from the industrial sector and 25 from the commercial sector.

Similarly, three industries changed their location, 16 changed ownership, 14 changed their names, and 10 industries added new objectives during the period.
