Four killed in mudslide while collecting soil in Sarlahi



SARLAHI: Four people, including three children, died after being buried in a mudslide this morning at Haripurwa Municipality-1 in Sarlahi district.

According to Assistant Spokesperson at the District Police Office, Balinthar Singh, the victims had gone to the bank of the Hardi stream to collect mud when the incident occurred.

The deceased have been identified as 65-year-old Sayada Khatun, six-year-old Sabiba Khatun, eight-year-old Dillu Mansur, and nine-year-old Nargis Khatun — all residents of Sonama Rural Municipality-6 in Mahottari district.

Locals rescued the victims and took them to the Provincial Hospital in Malangawa, where doctors pronounced them dead on arrival, Singh added.
