KATHMANDU: Widespread rainfall with thunder and lightning is forecast across several provinces today, with the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology warning of potentially heavy rain in the hilly areas of Bagmati Province.
Moderate showers are likely this afternoon in hilly regions of Koshi, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim, as well as in parts of the Terai. The weather is expected to intensify tonight, affecting hilly areas of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, with isolated heavy rainfall predicted for Bagmati.
The Department has urged the public and authorities to remain vigilant due to possible risks of flooding, landslides, and rising river levels.
