CAN announces eight franchises for Nepal Premier League



KATHMANDU: The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has unveiled the eight franchise teams participating in the Nepal Premier League (NPL).

This is the first time a Nepalese franchise cricket league will feature eight teams, marking a significant expansion from previous leagues.

The teams are named after five major cities and three provinces:

Cities: Kathmandu, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Chitwan, and Pokhara

Provinces: Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim

The NPL is scheduled to take place from November 30 to December 21 in Kathmandu.

Previous leagues, including the Everest Premier League, Pokhara Premier League, Dhangadhi Premier League, and Nepal T20 League, each featured only six teams.
