Two senior Secretaries resign over appointment of new Chief Secretary



KATHMANDU: Two senior secretaries have resigned in protest against the appointment of Ek Narayan Aryal as the Chief Secretary.

Secretary Toya Narayan Gyawali of the National Planning Commission and Secretary Dinesh Bhattarai of the Ministry of Women, Children, and Social Welfare submitted their resignations following Aryal’s appointment.

Gyawali, who was the most senior secretary and ranked first among secretaries, and Bhattarai, who ranked third, were reportedly dissatisfied with the decision to appoint Aryal, who was ranked fourth.

Sources have confirmed that their resignations have been approved.
