SMS Friendship Cup Triangular T20 Series: Nepal gains victory against Gujarat



KATHMANDU: In the first match of the SMS Friendship Cup triangular T20 series, Nepal emerged victorious by 8 wickets.

Nepal chased down the target of 99 runs in just 15.2 overs, losing only two wickets.

With excellent bowling from Gulsan Jha and Karan KC restricting Gujarat to 98 runs, Nepal’s Anil Sah contributed with 32 runs, while Rohit Paudel scored 33 runs before getting out.

Aasif Sheikh was dismissed for 16 runs, while Kushal Bhurtel was out for 17 runs.

Opting to bowl first after winning the toss, Nepal’s Gulshan took four wickets single-handedly.

Karan claimed three wickets, and Sompal Kami took one wicket as Gujarat was all out in 18.2 overs.

Gujarat lost two wickets at 98 runs.

Nepal is participating in this triangular series to prepare for the ACC Premier Cup and the World Cup.

Besides Gujarat and Nepal, Baroda is also participating in this competition.

Nepal will face Baroda on April 2 in their second match.

Similarly, Nepal will play against Gujarat again on April 3, and they will compete against Baroda on April 5 for the second time.

The top two teams from the round-robin stage will advance to the final match of the competition.
