No vote of confidence for Bagmati Chief Minister as it is: Unified Socialist Party



HETAUDA: The ruling CPN-Unified Socialist party has indicated that it cannot provide a vote of confidence to the Bagmati government under the current circumstances.

During a meeting of the provincial parliamentary party held on Sunday, Krishna Khanal, the leader of the Unified Socialist Party in the Bagmati Province Assembly, expressed dissatisfaction with various issues, ultimately leading to the decision not to provide a vote of confidence to the provincial government.

Bagmati Chief Minister Shalikram Jamkattel has prepared to seek a vote of confidence from the provincial assembly on Monday.

Jamkattel, a leader of the CPN-Maoist Center, serves as the Chief Minister in Bagmati.

There are seven Unified Socialist Party members in the Bagmati Province Assembly.

Furthermore, during a meeting of the Nepali Congress (NC) parliamentary party, it was decided on Sunday to instruct parliamentarians to vote against the proposal for the vote of confidence that Chief Minister Jamkattel intends to put forward.

Here, NC has 37, CPN-UML has 27, CPN-Maoist Center has 21, Rastriya Prajatantra Party has 13, Nepal Worker Peasants Party has 3, and Hamro Nepal Party has 2 members.

The Bagmati Provincial Assembly has 110 members, out of which the government needs the support of 56 members to form a government.
