Bhaktapur Durbar Square gears up for Bisket Jatra celebrations (with photos)

KATHMANDU: Vibrant preparations are underway at Bhaktapur Durbar Square as the renowned Bisket Jatra approaches.

The festival, steeped in cultural and historical significance, spans nine days and eight nights, marking a joyous occasion for locals and visitors alike.

Kicking off the festivities is the ceremonial pulling of the chariot of Bhaila Kha (Bhairavnath) from the Panchtalle (five-storey) temple in Taumadhi.

The three-storey wooden chariot, crafted in the pagoda style, will traverse the upper and lower tole (settlements) adorned with statues of Bhairavnath and Betal.
