KATHMANDU: The Embassy of Nepal in Dhaka organized a pre-event seminar, laying the groundwork for the upcoming Third Nepal Investment Summit 2024.
During the seminar, Nepal’s Ambassador to Bangladesh, Ghanashyam Bhandari, encouraged Bangladeshi investors to explore lucrative opportunities in Nepal’s key sectors, including hydropower, infrastructure, hospitality, pharmaceuticals, and information technology.
State Minister of Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources of Bangladesh, Nasrul Hamid, echoed Bhandari’s sentiments, underscoring the significant investment potential in Nepal.
He expressed Bangladesh’s eagerness to bolster investment ties with Nepal, particularly in energy cooperation, given Nepal’s vast hydropower potential and Bangladesh’s escalating energy demands.
Sushil Bhatta, Chief Executive Officer of Investment Board Nepal, outlined the objectives of the upcoming Summit, emphasizing its role in facilitating global investors, policymakers, and development finance institutions to explore investment prospects and forge partnerships with local businesses.
Joint Secretary of Investment Board Nepal, Babu Raj Adhikari, provided comprehensive updates on the forthcoming Summit, highlighting its significance in attracting investments to Nepal.
Additionally, video messages from Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and Finance Minister Barsha Man Pun were presented, underlining the government’s commitment to promoting investment and economic growth.
The seminar, attended by over 80 participants, including Members of the Parliament of Bangladesh, government officials, business leaders, and media personnel, served as a platform to discuss expectations and insights leading up to the Investment Summit scheduled later this month.
