NEPSE records a decline of 21.67 points on Wednesday



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has closed with a decline of 21.67 points as selling pressure increased in the share market after three consecutive days of growth.

Along with this, the NEPSE index has also dropped by 1.02 points today.

With a double-digit decline, the index has come down to 2,097 points.

In the market, the prices of shares of 29 companies have increased while the prices of shares of 215 companies have decreased. The prices of shares of 3 companies remain stable.

Despite the decline in the index, the share prices of Samling Power and Mandakini Hydropower have increased by 9.87% and 9.67%, respectively.

However, the share price of Mechiyam Hydropower has decreased by 5.87%, making it the most significant drop of the day.

Today, Himalayan General Insurance Company has experienced the highest business volume, with its shares accounting for a total transaction of NPR 638,700,000.

Following this, NRNA Infrastructure and Development’s share has also recorded a substantial transaction of more than NPR 260,000,000, marking the second-highest business volume.

When NEPSE loses 21 points, the production group’s index shows an 8.38-point growth.

Additionally, all other groups have experienced a decline. The Life Insurance Group has faced a loss of 114 points, with the Hotel and Non-Life Insurance Company Group recording a loss of 116 points.

Similarly, the Tourism Group has faced a loss of 114 points, and the Development Bank Group has seen a decrease of 79 points.

Today, more than 14,700,000 shares have been traded in NEPSE, exceeding the transaction value of Rs 5.29 billion.

This follows the trend from Sunday, when NEPSE recorded a 10-point growth, maintaining the same momentum on Monday. Similarly, it witnessed a surge of 14 points on Tuesday. However, it has closed with a significant loss of 21 points today.
