NOC increases price of petroleum products

The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has increased the price of petroleum products. The new market price of petrol, diesel and LP gas or cooking gas will come into effect from 1:00 am tomorrow. Accordingly, the price of petrol has been increased by Rs 4, diesel-kerosene by Rs 2 and LP gas by Rs 15.

ICC U-19 World Cup Cricket: Nepal defeated by Bangladesh

Nepal lost to Bangladesh by 5 wickets in the match held in the Super Six of the ICC U-19 World Cup cricket tournament. In the match held earlier today at Bloemfontein of South Africa, Bangladesh attained the victory target of 170 runs set by Nepal in 25.2 overs, with 5 wickets in hand.

NA proposes reviving Hetauda Textile Industry with an estimated cost of 1.93 billion

The Nepal Army has proposed to resume operations of the Hetauda Textile Industry, lying idle for nine years, with an investment of Rs 1.93 billion. According to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda’s Secretariat, the Prime Minister discussed to NA officials and other stake holders about reviving the public industries lying neglected and deserted since long.

Govt. committed for making journalism advanced and professional: Minister Sharma

Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Rekha Sharma, has said the incumbent government was committed to make journalism sector more advanced, professional and prosperous protecting the press freedom. Addressing a program organized on the 39th anniversary of the Nepal Television, Minister Sharma mentioned that Nepal Television and Radio Nepal would be merged and developed as more independent, autonomous and people-oriented public service broadcaster.

Kathmandu ranks seventh among the world’s most polluted cities

In a disconcerting revelation, Kathmandu has secured the unenviable seventh spot on the list of the world’s most polluted cities. The air quality in Nepal’s capital has hit alarming levels, with PM2.5 levels surging to 171 micrograms per cubic meter (μg/m3) at 9:30 am, according to data from IQ AirVisual.

Helambu jeep accident claims lives of two Bhutanese citizens, helicopter rescues injured

A jeep accident in Ward No. 1 of Helambu Rural Municipality, Sindhupalchowk, has resulted in the unfortunate death of two Bhutanese citizens. On Wednesday morning around 11 am, the Ba 2 Cha 4450 jeep, carrying five Bhutanese citizens and one Nepali (the driver), veered off the road and plummeted 50 meters. The accident claimed the lives of two Bhutanese nationals on board.
