Leadership age cap set at 32 for ANNISU (Revolutionary)

KATHMANDU: The student wing affiliated with the Maoist Center, All Nepal National Independent Students’ Union (ANNISU Revolutionary), has officially decided to impose an age limit for its leadership selection.

Following a close vote, 900 members supported implementing an age cap, while 879 voted to keep it open. As per the final decision, individuals above 32 years of age will no longer be eligible to contest for leadership positions in the student union.

The decision has sparked debates within the organization, with differing opinions on whether an age limit aligns with the union’s principles and operational effectiveness.

Chief Election Officer Mukti Narayan Pradhan announced that the election to select new leadership, adhering to the newly imposed age restriction, will take place on January 25, 2025.
