Madhav Nepal warns PM Dahal about KP Oli’s intentions

Says, Oli still justifies parliament dissolution

KATHMANDU: CPN-Unified Socialist Party Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal expressed strong criticism towards CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli and warned Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ to be cautious of Oli’s intentions.

During the opening ceremony of the 10th National Convention of the Socialist Party at Pragya Bhawan on Sunday, Nepal advised PM Dahal to stay wary of Oli, who continues to justify the dissolution of the parliament.

Referencing remarks by Janamat Party Chairman Dr. CK Raut, who expressed both admiration and fear of the Communist Party, Nepal emphasized the party’s commitment to accountability and transformation.

“We have made historic changes. Others may have tried to pull us down, but we have remained steadfast. To protect the country’s independence, dignity, and territorial integrity, we must move forward united,” Nepal asserted, adding, “The Communist Party holds high regard among Nepalis for defending national pride, so Dr. Raut need not worry.”

Addressing issues of corruption and instability within his party, Nepal recalled the effort to unite 36 communist parties in 2042 BS.

He stressed the need for socialism to manifest in people’s lives rather than remain theoretical.

Nepal further highlighted the defense of the constitution and the republic, pointing out that those who still justify the dissolution of the House of Representatives are present in the government.

“We have upheld the constitution and the republic, and we have proven that this party can make a difference,” he said, directing his remarks towards PM Dahal, “Prime Minister, be aware that there are still those who believe the dissolution of the House of Representatives was justified. Take note of this.”

By referring to the instance of parliament dissolution he took a jab at Oli, who was absent from the convention’s opening.
