10 killed in natural disasters across Nepal in past 24 hours



KATHMANDU: Over the past day, Nepal witnessed the tragic loss of 10 lives due to various natural disasters in different regions of the country.

According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA), nine individuals succumbed to landslides in Gulmi, Baglung, and Syangja, while another person tragically perished in Dang from a lightning strike.

Among the casualties, a devastating landslide in Gulmi claimed the lives of five members of a single family.

Additionally, a couple in Galkot municipality-8 of Baglung and a mother with her daughter in Syangja also lost their lives in separate incidents.

Bhumisara Budha Magar, aged 39, from Rajpur rural municipality-2 in Dang, fell victim to a lightning strike.

Dr. Dijan Bhattarai, spokesperson for NDRRMA, reported that three individuals sustained injuries during these incidents.

Since the start of this year’s monsoon season, a total of 38 fatalities have occurred in Nepal due to disasters.
