BIRATNAGAR: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ announced that the government plans to implement the concept of an Employment Bank to ensure employment for the available workforce based on their knowledge, skills, and technical expertise.

The PM stated that the Employment Bank will address the issues of job demand and supply and facilitate entrepreneurship development.

Speaking at the Shramadhan Employment Fair, the PM emphasized that entrepreneurship development would be accelerated by effectively utilizing the labor, skills, and experiences of returnee migrants and others within the country.

Prime Minister Dahal noted that the upcoming fiscal year’s budget includes provisions to ensure employment for up to 100,000 returnee migrants, leveraging their knowledge, capital, skills, and technical expertise.

He also highlighted the government’s commitment to protecting workers’ welfare to ensure their good health and well-being, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and government policies and programs.

The PM mentioned efforts to increase domestic employment through entrepreneurship development by properly utilizing remittances.

Ensuring domestic jobs for citizens is crucial for the country’s prosperity and the well-being of its people, according to the PM.

“The government plans to make potential job aspirants more competitive by promoting their skills and capacity building. The implementation of employment fairs will directly benefit a large number of youths entering the labor market,” PM Prachanda said.

The PM called for joint efforts and cooperation from stakeholders to advance the journey toward prosperity through employment generation and the development of decent labor.

He described the Shramadhan Employment Fair as a meaningful intervention, expressing hope that the fair would tap into labor and employment opportunities and offer a one-stop solution to related challenges.

Additionally, the PM shared that several new programs have been introduced in the upcoming fiscal year’s budget to create employment, develop entrepreneurship among returnees, revive the agriculture sector, and more.
