Bagmati Province govt expansion, UML participates Maoist-led govt

HETAUDA: Bagmati Province Chief Minister Shalikram Jamkattel has announced a cabinet reshuffle, incorporating CPN-UML lawmaker Jagannath Thapaliya into the provincial cabinet.

On the recommendation of Chief Minister Jamkattel, Bagmati Province Chief Yadav Chandra Sharma has appointed Thapaliya to the cabinet.

Thapaliya, who is serving as a minister for the second time in the second term of the Provincial Assembly, has been assigned the Ministry of Finance and Planning.

Following the withdrawal of support from the Nepali Congress for Chief Minister Jamkattel, the government, led by the Maoist Center, has been restructured to include the UML in the coalition.

Earlier on Thursday, Chief Minister Jamkattel had expanded the cabinet by naming Shailendra Man Bajracharya, the parliamentary party leader of Hamro Nepali Party, as a minister.
