NID officer implicated in the murder of police aide in Bara

BARA: A National Investigation Department (NID) officer has been implicated in the murder of Rajkumar Rumba, a police aide, in a case driven by personal grudges and robbery.

The District Police Office in Bara revealed the involvement after arresting three suspects in connection with the case.

Those detained include 27-year-old Purushottam Kumar Das, owner of Jayma Engineering Workshop in Jitpur Simara-19, Indrajit Kumar Chauhan, and Shrikant Tiwari, who is an NID officer stationed at the Simara Airport Office.

Rajkumar Rumba, stationed at the Simara Airport Security Guard under the Area Police Office, was found dead on December 21 in a gray car parked near the Bakulia Ramouli-Losanda road section of Jitpur Simara-11.

The postmortem report confirmed that he was shot in the head.

During the investigation, police recovered Rumba’s gold chain from Das’ workshop and his wallet from a bag belonging to Das.

They also seized six mobile phones and Das’ Yamaha motorcycle (plate number NA 13 P 547).

According to police, the suspects murdered Rumba out of personal enmity and to rob him.

The three suspects are now facing charges related to homicide, with the Bara District Court granting seven days for further investigation.
